Minnesota Vikings General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah spoke to the press Tuesday while attending the NFL Combine, where he discussed the future of some of the Vikings most impactful players, including Defensive End Danielle Hunter and his impending free agency.

“It's not just about this season, it's the next season, all these things.” Stated Adofo-Mensah. “we'll go to the table and see if we can figure out, talk about a way to kind of find a deal to meet in the middle."

Hunter, 29, had the best statistical season of his career. He finished fifth in the NFL in sacks with 16.5, the best mark of his career. He added 83 total tackles, causing 4 forced fumbles in the process.

"He had a great season,” Praised Adofo-Mensah. “Danielle walks out of bed and is gonna sack the quarterback, pressure, impact the game. That's who he is,"

Hunter signed a one year, $17 million prove-it deal in the 2023 offseason. Having outperformed that deal, Hunter is expected to demand upwards of $20 million a year, according to PFF.

While the Vikings are still in talks with Hunter, according to Jeremy fowler of ESPN, they are expected to have strong competition, most notably from the Jacksonville Jaguars and NFC North rivals, the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions. Each of these teams are looking to build a pass-rush duo between Hunter and their own young stars in Josh Allen, Montez Sweat and Aidan Hutchinson, respectively.

"My job, like I said, is to do my job. And I'm gonna make sure I stay in shape and whatever is best available for me, I'll take that." Said Hunter during the Pro Bowl.

The Vikings will have to make some important choices this offseason, as Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson are both also looking for new deals.
